Bazat e Sigurise Kibernetike është një kurs hyrës me një fokus të gjerë, që përfshin fushat e sigurisë së informacionit, rrezikut dhe analizës. Përveç njohjes së studentit me terminologjinë dhe teknologjinë themelore të sigurisë, ai do të prekë gjithashtu çështjet sociale dhe ligjore, analizën dhe zbutjen e rrezikut, inteligjencën e krimit dhe forenzikën, dhe luftën dhe sigurimin e informacionit. Ky kurs do t'u mundësojë studentëve të kuptojnë kërkesat për sigurinë e informacionit në çdo agjenci ose organizatë. Do të përfshihen informacione nga rastet që lidhen me terrorizmin kibernetik, bioterrorizmin dhe mbrojtjen kritike të infrastrukturës. Disa koncepte që duhet të mbulohen në fushën e sigurisë së informacionit janë: konfidencialiteti, integriteti, disponueshmëria dhe mos-mohimi. Do të diskutohen metoda të ndryshme për ruajtjen e këtyre shqetësimeve të sigurisë, të tilla si: vërtetimi me një dhe shumë faktorë, kriptimi, nënshkrimet dixhitale, parandalimi i sulmeve të mohimit të shërbimit, etj. Ky kurs përfshin gjithashtu çështje sociale dhe ligjore në lidhje me sigurinë. Ky kurs gjithashtu përfshin parimet themelore dhe qasjet për analizën e rrezikut, analizën e cenueshmërisë, krimin dhe analizën e inteligjencës, mjekësinë ligjore, teknikat për vlerësimin e rrezikut dhe zbutjen e rrezikut.
