This course aims to provide students with in-depth information on international components of copyright, patents, trademarks, and other forms of intellectual property rights. In this course will be treated in detail the legal concepts of works which are the fruit of intellectual / industrial creativity of natural / legal persons; the conditions that must be met for the products of intellectual creativity to enjoy protection from any normative act in force; subjects that the law recognizes the right to appeal administratively and judicially; the procedure followed for reviewing the appeal and making a decision. The course will analyze in an integrated way with the topics of each week, the basic principles and legal instruments of international intellectual property law, including the review of the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property, the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary Works and Property and the WTO Agreement on Trade-Intellectual Property Aspects (TRIPS) ..
- Objectives

The main objective of this course is to provide the student with an advanced understanding of Intellectual Property laws, namely in relation to Trademarks, Copyrights, Patents and Designs. The student will also become familiar with the legal principles of Intellectual Property laws and the practical tools for effective counseling and advising clients. The main purpose of this course is to expose students to the social, economic and cultural considerations that underpin intellectual property law around the world.
