This course serves as an academic capstone, demonstrating the student's ability to conduct independent research, perform in-depth literary analysis, and construct a coherent, evidence-based argument using primary texts and secondary scholarly sources. The student will properly format and defend a thesis of no less than 10,000 words.
- Objectives

Independent Literary Analysis: The student will formulate a unique research question or interpretative argument about one or more literary texts; Synthesizing Secondary Literature: The project proves the student’s ability to find, evaluate, and integrate established scholarly criticism (academic journals, literary theory, books) to support or contextualize thesis and arguments; Methodological Application: The student will illustrate understanding of literary criticism – such as feminist, Marxist, post-colonial, or psychological – interpret a text through a specific critical perspective; Academic Writing and Structure: The student will illustrate the capacity to organize complex ideas logically, adhere strictly to citation styles (MLA or APA, depending on methodology), and write with scholarly precision.
